Duty Manager - Franschhoek

Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel Duty Manager to join our clients prestigious wine estate, renowned for its sophisticated luxury accommodation and 5-star guest experiences. As the Hotel Duty Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our clients hotel, maintaining the highest standards of service, and upholding their reputation for excellence in hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Guest Experience Management:
  • Ensure guests receive exceptional service from arrival to departure.
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Anticipate guest needs and maintain a proactive approach to enhancing their experience.
Operations Oversight:
  • Supervise daily hotel operations to ensure smooth functioning of all departments.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, front desk, F&B, and maintenance teams to maintain high standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of hotel staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for team members.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  1. Revenue and Cost Management:
  • Monitor and control hotel expenses and ensure budgetary guidelines are followed.
  • Maximize revenue through effective upselling techniques and yield management strategies.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to promote hotel services and packages.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
  • Implement emergency procedures and maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to uphold standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene.
Event Coordination:
  • Oversee the planning and execution of events and special occasions hosted at the hotel.
  • Coordinate with event organizers, ensuring all arrangements meet guest expectations and specifications.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Duty Manager or similar role in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of hotel management software (PMS) and MS Office proficiency.
Education and Certification:
  • Relevant certifications in hospitality management or equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements:
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
