Resident Electrical Engineer – 10 Years Experience This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of our Consulting Engineers' team on a termed Maintenance Contract. What you'll do Joining our team as a Resident Electrical Engineer for one of our Gauteng Based Maintenance Contracts, and operating from the Gauteng Germiston office, South Africa, on a performance based yearly contract, you will Work as part of a national electrical-disciplinary team to deliver on project goals Undertake liaison with project stakeholders including Clients and Contractors Deliver best practice and outcomes for Clients, saving on costs and time Provide electrical design and maintenance expertise on a variety of electrical site specific issues that arise Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, and quality control procedure documentation and reporting. Undertake regular field (site) and desktop investigations, designs, inspections, audits, monitoring, quality control testing, approval, rejection of work and supervision related to the contractual obligations and duties of the maintenance contract assigned to you. Monitoring and reporting of the Contractor's programme. Regular Site Meetings and Monthly reports with the Contractor and Client. Implement our Firm of Engineer's quality control plan. Implement the Firm of Engineers requirements in terms of compliance with the OHS Act. Monitor Contractor's quality control plan. Monitor the Contractor's compliance with the OHS Act Financial forecasts, budgeting and cashflow management. Measurement and certification of completed work. Monitoring of the Contractor's claims. Monitoring and reporting of Contractor's CPG commitments. Monitoring and supervision of traffic accommodation arrangements. Monitoring and reporting of the project's EMP and NEMA requirements. Compile all reports and as-built data in accordance with the Client's standard requirements Technical and commercial insight with a focus on successful outcomes for the maintenance contract and our Clients. Electrical specific specialist safety knowledge/understanding (protection, arc flash, earthing, hazardous areas, and machine safety principles). About you You will have experience in delivering efficient and effective engineering consultancy services to our public and private sector Clients including the preparation of Client-focused proposals. National Diploma or NQF 6 (Electrical) / B-Tech (Electrical) or equivalent tertiary qualifications. ECSA Certification and registered as a Candidate. Minimum 10 years' experience working within engineering consultancy, or electrical maintenance projects. Demonstrate experience in designing and managing onsite maintenance electrical systems. Understanding and demonstrated experience in the routine road maintenance works of electrical and lighting systems, and maintenance management of Electrical infrastructure undertaken by the Contractor. Demonstrate a history of effectively managing, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines, KPI and budget constraints. Design background in MV, LV electrical systems, lighting. Shown experience in project co-ordination and management. Possess a working knowledge of Safety and Electrical regulations and standards Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, team members, and peers. Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. Excellent Package Offered.
