Electrical Technician - Port Elizabeth

Purpose of role: The Technician will provide technical support to stakeholders including salespeople and customers. They will interact on a variety of remote mediums to execute support functions Main responsibilities: ● Ensure that technical support is provided on company products, by understanding the application requirements and reviewing product specifications. ● Field incoming help requests from end users and customers via both telephone / email / site requests in a courteous manner. ● Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, contact information, and nature of problems requiring extended technical support services ● Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician. ● Test suggested support fixes to ensure the problem has been adequately resolved ● Develop help sheets and knowledge base articles for end users and sales organization. ● Ensure that technical assistance, support and specification review with sales staff is provided. ● Ensure an accurate technical analysis, calculation and review of requirements at all times. ● Ensure that assistance is provided with the preparation of technical fault finding reports/reviews with professional correspondence to customers. ● Ensure that technical manuals are established, created, updated and maintained. ● Ensure that a professional image to company customers and suppliers are portrayed at all times, maintaining the highest ethical standards of conduct. ● Participate in training programs as and when required. ● Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and recommendations at all times. ● Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization. ● Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position. ● Grade 12 ● Drivers license and own car ● Technical diploma or degree in Electrical or related field ● 3 years relevant experience
