An opportunity have arisen at one of our Cape Town clients FMCG manufacturing facilities for a suitable individual to join the Factory Management Team in the capacity of Electrician. The purpose of the role is to ensure all electrical maintenance activities are carried out and that all plant equipment and activities complies to occupational health & safety regulations and procedures. Also to ensure departmental goals and targets are achieved. • Maintain machinery to achieve acceptable uptime for production to meet planned targets within the allocated timeframes. • Maintain occupational Health & Safety standards and good housekeeping procedures. • Responsible for upkeep of all electrical distribution boards, in accordance with OSH act and regulations. • Good understanding of the manufacturing process and production machinery and its components • Understanding the implications and consequences of maintenance practices on achieving agreed uptime standards and product quality and customer satisfaction • Knowledge and application of relevant safety, health and environmental legislation to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards. • Understanding of own role in the production chain and how poor performance negatively impacts on manufacturing practices and quality standards. • Competency in mathematical and communication skills at Grade 8 Level. • Demonstrate the application of appropriate reporting mechanisms for unsafe working practice and conditions as well as job card reporting. • Demonstrate good housekeeping practices and ability to suggest possible improvements where appropriate. • Five-year post apprenticeship trade experience within a FMCG environment. • Good understanding of SANS 10142 requirements with regards to wiring of premises. • Good understanding of mechanical components maintenance, able to replace bearings, shafts, rollers and RDC's on shift. • Willing to work shifts. R22 500 to R25 000 per month
