A technically inclined and practical individual who is process and results driven that enjoys taking electronics apart, fixing it and putting them back together. Take ownership and accountability for quality repairs of Sefeko handsets' electronics. ASSESSMENT AND REPAIRS Assess handsets by using the Sefeko assessment tool to determine the status of the handset Identify handset faults and determine solutions Interpret the schematic diagram to identify where the problem is and to formulate a plan of action Inspect components for defects Test the PCB's to determine the cause of failure by using the relevant electronic test equipment Replace faulty TH and SMT components by means of the correct soldering techniques Do all repairs on handsets' electronics Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Capture the outcome of all investigations, assessments, repairs and UAT Adhere to quality assurance procedures Keep track of manufacturer warranties relating to repairs Procure components and assure quality of components ordered and received Test and inspect electrical equipment to ensure proper functioning Provide weekly and/or monthly assessment and repair reports Maintain equipment used in the repair process STOCK COUNTING AND MOVEMENTS Count stock on a daily and monthly basis Reconcile physical stock count to the accounting system and investigate differences Play a key role in the annual stock counting process Ensure protocol is followed and keep record of all stock movements Involved with supplier relationship management Provide weekly and/or monthly stock reports HOUSEKEEPING Pack stock away in clearly marked containers and ensure the repair area is cleaned daily Clean and maintain all assessment test equipment and tools National Certificate (N6) or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering IPC-certified soldering and/or quality assurance courses will be an advantage At least four (4) years' experience in a similar role Experience in using electronic test equipment to diagnose faults on printed circuit boards (PCB) Experience in through-hole (TH) and surface mount technology (SMT) component soldering and rework Experience with Microsoft Office and inventory management systems Well organised and self-driven The ability to plan and get work done in accordance with specific deadlines A valid South African ID and driving licence The salary is market-related and negotiable, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
