Employee Relations Generalist / Recruiter - Johannesburg

Responsibilities:
  • Handle all blue-collar recruitment (end to end) including apprentice and student trainees.
  • Act as a first point of contact for all employee queries at the workshop level.
  • Provide support and guidance on employee benefits issues e.g. medical aid, pension etc.
  • Handle minor disciplinary matters at the workshop.
  • Apply the disciplinary code and provide IR support to supervisors and foreman at the workshop.
  • Provide support on disciplinary and grievance procedures at the shopfloor.
  • Submit the employment equity report to the department of labour.
  • Participate in the employment equity committee function as a member.
  • Record the minutes during the EE committee meetings.
  • Provide support during compliance audit performed by statutory bodies such as the department of labour and the MEIBC.

Qualification and Experience:
  • National Diploma in HR or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years Industry experience (2 years recruitment experience and at least 1-year general HR administration)
  • Understanding of payroll processes
  • Previous experience with MEIBC and Main agreement.
  • Ability to work with trade unions.
  • Working knowledge of BCEA, LRA Skills Development Act.
