Phakisa Holdings is currently seeking a Employment Equity Specialist for Cape Town - Foreshore. This is a 6 month FTC Contract. Responsible for the Coordination and Administration of employment equity submissions and verifications. Policy Development: Develop, review, and update employment equity policies and procedures in accordance with legislative requirements and best practices. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate employment practices, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Employment Equity Act, Human Rights Code, and other applicable regulations. Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret workforce demographic data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement in equity representation and diversity. Reporting: Prepare and submit employment equity reports to regulatory bodies and senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for achieving equity goals. Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to raise awareness and foster understanding of employment equity principles among employees, managers, and decision-makers. Recruitment and Selection: Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to develop inclusive recruitment and selection processes that attract and retain diverse talent while ensuring fairness and equity. Accommodation: Facilitate accommodations for employees from designated groups to ensure equal access to employment opportunities and career advancement. Consultation and Advisory: Provide guidance, support, and expert advice to management, employees, and external stakeholders on matters related to employment equity, diversity, and inclusion. Partnership Building: Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies to promote employment equity initiatives and foster a diverse talent pipeline. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging trends, legislation, and best practices in employment equity, diversity, and inclusion to recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field. Certification in Employment Equity or Diversity Management is an asset. In-depth knowledge of employment equity legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify actionable insights. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience developing and implementing employment equity programs and initiatives. Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive change in a complex organizational environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
