Our client, a leading open pit mining company is looking for an Energy Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate can be based in either Cape Town or Pretoria. The purpose of this position is to help achieve the company's vision and objectives by optimizing energy usage and efficiency within mining operations to reduce costs and environmental impact. In addition, the purpose is to ensure compliance with energy-related regulations and standards in the mining industry. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Responsible for MOL (Metering-on-line) management for all plants Be able to do designs, feasibility studies, and project executions. Ensure quality of electricity supply to all company sites in a cost-efficient way. Develop and maintain an electricity management system in the company for all business units. Drive long-term energy efficiency and CO2 reduction initiatives and monitoring. Manage relationship with Eskom and other electricity suppliers. Research and advise on alternative Energy Management supply to reduce electricity consumption. Manage energy projects according to company Standards. Formulate, revise, and implement energy strategy in line with company requirements. REQUIREMENTS: B.Tech. Engineering degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical. 5 years Engineering or Project related experience Valid driver's license Ability to analyse and interpret information Decision-making ability in a fast-changing environment
