Engineering Head - Mining - Northern Cape (Ref: B.K) - Northern CapeIntroductionOur client, an international Mining House with operations across Africa, is looking for an Engineering Head to join their operations in the Northern Cape.The incumbent will report directly to the SBU Director and will be responsible to provide a strategic Engineering management and systems services to the organisation.Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey duties include but not limited to: Manage the Engineering department in a strategic mannerProvide an engineering input to the establishment of the overall company strategic vision, mission and objectives.Develop a strategic vision, mission and objective for the engineering functions.Manage and coordinate the engineering strategic objectives and initiatives e.g.:Power managementMaintenance managementBench markingSystem effectiveness measuresIdentify engineering best practice and include in the company’s engineering vision, mission and objectives.Identify Local, Regional and National issues which could have an impact on the the company’s Engineering strategic plan, and develop appropriate strategies to address these issues.Company strategic vision, mission and objectives implemented with engineering input.Engineering strategic plan developed in conjunction with Engineering staff.Strategic plan managed in terms of objectives/deadlines (regular feedback on progress).Engineering best practice identified and implemented.Local, Regional and National issues identified, and appropriate strategies developed and implemented. Provide an engineering consultancy serviceDevelop relationships with applicable consultancy companies.Network within the greater group of the company.Provide strategic engineering advice and/or service to EXCO and the business unit managers.Provide engineering advice/guidance service to the companyConsultancy companies selected result in improved engineering service to the company.Advice to EXCO/line management results in sound engineering practices/service being implemented.Community benefits from engineering input.
