Reference: CET003961-MO-1We are seeking an exceptional Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the Engineering Team of a thriving, well-established, and dynamic renewable energy company based in Centurion. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Engineering degree in technical discipline AutoCad, Helioscope, PVSyst and Meteoscope Proficient in MS Office Suite Own Transport Valid drivers license Working knowledge of SANS 1014-2 Must have a Professional Registration (PrEng) EXPERIENCE: At least 10 – 12 years’ experience in a similar role At least 5 years of commercial and industrial PV engineering experience Solar photovoltaic systems design experience Must be able to travel as required Strong knowledge of PV components Working knowledge of energy modelling, PV specific modelling, standard electrical calculations, basic structural and mechanical calculations. SKILLS: Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) Highly organized and proactive Able to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities Professional attitude and appearance Presentation skills Client liaison DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for engineering and design of grid-connected solar photovoltaic systems (including rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted arrays) to design the most optimal layout with the most appropriate technologies Responsible for technical designs, both structural and electrical at various stages from conceptual design to detailed engineering designs and ensuring compliance with standards and codes. Coordinate with various internal and external teams, engineers, consultants, and authorities to assess the project viability and resolve technical issues for solar photovoltaic projects. Establish and maintain processes, standards, tools, and templates for the engineering team to deliver industry-leading designs and optimized solar photovoltaic projects. Review, comment and approve drawings submitted by team Create and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for Request for Proposals (RFP) Conduct site visits Schedule design review meetings and project kick-off meetings with internal and external stakeholders Assist operations engineering and proposal teams with engineering-related questions Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage competing priorities and overcome obstacles to successfully meet project milestones Manage proposals and bid/award process Produce pre-conceptual designs The offices are situated in Centurion, with the expectation of both national and international travel throughout Africa.
