The Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and implementing company engineering policies and standards and provide specialist engineering knowledge. The incumbent will implement and ensure execution of a standardised asset lifecycle management approach and maintenance management system across the organisation and will drive standardisation of and coordinate spare parts management and maintenance planning. Develop strategies to improve quality of engineering service, performance, and budgetary and operational efficiency for the unit. Drive for optimal asset care and improvement through establishing systems that could be deployed for maintenance applicable to plant and services (continuous improvement based). Approves engineering designs and/or programme or project specifications to meet desired compliance with engineering principles, standards, statutes, codes, regulations and design. Defines policies and compliance procedures with engineering principles, standards, codes and design needs; perform inspections and audits to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Write clear, concise and organised documents, and reports, addressing novel or complex engineering concepts and facts such as standards or practices or codes or regulations. Drafts and develops standards, rules and legislation. Provides engineering standards consultation as an expert involving complex or broad scope work project or programme. Participate in the development of long-range engineering and project management strategic goals. Drive standardisation of and coordinate spare parts management and maintenance planning. Develop and align KPI framework with manufacturing leadership, review and monitor the monthly performance against set standards and provide input to management for review. Work with Capex project management team to develop technical specification for new plant and machinery purchase. What the Engineering Manager will be measured on: Machine uptime % (breakdown hours per day) Maintenance cost per standard unit of production Maintenance consumable cost Maintenance cost savings (% achieved versus target) A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in FMCG with experience in maintenance management and project management.
