Our compnay is currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team in Midrand . Main purpose of the position The Engineering Manager shall oversee the Engineering Department and ensure that tendering, designing, engineering, allowable creation, and tracking in line with specified deliverables. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Develop forms and records to document engineering activities. Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert. Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team members. Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by. Propose budgets and timelines for engineering projects and handover to Project Manager. Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff. Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs. Hire, train, and supervise engineering staff members. Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes. Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors. Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally. Managing the completion of allowable for various tenders. Assist with the process of completing contract finalisation for medium term services. Source and procure work. Marketing of Business at all levels. Help create a working environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and motivated in accordance with the AFMS policies and procedures with particular reference to equality and diversity. Manage engineering management pack monthly to report to Divisional Manager. Manage risk assessments on all tendering within the levels of authority. With the help of HR ensure adequate career pathing within the operations divisions. STAFF MANAGEMENT Resolve any staff disputes and carry out any necessary disciplinary, according to company policies and practices. To comply and enforce with all quality, safety, health, environment and legal policies and procedures. Identify any weaknesses in the team & staff training required. REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Mechanical skills – from operating tools to deciphering blueprints, engineering managers must display strong mechanical skills to succeed in this field. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering. 6 years of engineering experience, ideally in a management role. Minimum of 5 years industry specific experience of HVAC / Bio Containment within medical laboratory environment or similar. Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems. Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline driven environment. Ability to work individually or as a part of a team. Project management – understand all aspects and stages of project management, such as budgeting, cost estimating, scheduling, and team assembly will be an advantage. Problem-solving – continually assessing worksites and project progression, engineering managers address any issues that arise with assistance of the Project Manager. Communication – strong verbal and written communication skills come into play when collaborating with Clients, engineers, architects, vendors, and other professionals on a daily basis. Time management – the ability to set and meet deadlines. Provide guidance to team members and monitor their performance, discipline, and attendance on regular basis. Knowledge of general industry terminology e.g. EN 12469, NSF 49, ISO 14644, microbiology etc. Experience in evaluating technical reports and developing technical reporting. Extensive report-writing skills Computer Literate (MS Office, Internet etc.). Good Communication Skills (Verbal and Written). Valid driver's licence and passport. Market Related Apply Now
