Reference: JHB001944-CR-1Niche underwriting agency, specialising in engineering-related insurance products is looking for an Engineering Underwriter to join their Dynamic team in Johannesburg. 3- 4 years' experience with at least 1 year in the engineering underwriting field is essential. Minimum Requirement Matric. Engineering or Insurance qualification would be an advantage. 3 years experience in underwriting wit at least 1 year in engineering underwriting. FAIS Credits. RE 5 certification is highly advantages. Responsibilities: Support the underwriting strategy of the engineering branch by being an active member of the engineering underwriting team. Manage the existing risk portfolio and new submissions proposed by the market for both domestic and international risks. Analysing the technical documentation received (plans, technical reports, geotechnical reports, technical specifications, etc.) and the insurance terms and conditions to analyse the characteristics of the risk, assess its consistency with the company's underwriting principles and determine the applicable insurance terms and conditions. Perform, when necessary, inspections of insured sites. Constantly interact with both the local underwriting team and the Home Office team to share underwriting assessments and strategies. Transpose and implement the guidelines and underwriting authority defined by the Home Office. Constantly interacting with other Company departments such as the Operations team, Risk Engineering team, Sales team, and Claims team to pursue branch objectives. R 30 000 - R 35 000 - Monthly
