Equipment/Site Service Technician - Johannesburg

Water treatment specialists offering water treatment chemicals, equipment, on-site service and water analyses has a vacancy for a Site Equipment Technician, as well as a Site Service Technician. Requirements: Grade 12/ Relevant qualification At least 2 years experience in water treatment industry Offices in North Riding, traveling across South Africa, possibility of traveling across the border should it be a requirement. Afrikaans/ English speaker Driver’s license required Own transport required (company vehicle available to travel to and from customers) In good health – Medicals need to be completed and are required to go to some sites. – e.g. no heart/ lung issues, epilepsy etc. Both positions require good time management, good communication skills, intermediate/ good computer skills – training will be provided for any “out of the ordinary” software. Duties: Welding – mig /arc /stainless steel etc. Plumbing – PVC, galvanized etc. Equipment – building water treatment / R.O. etc. plants Electrical – laying of cables, wiring panels, fault finding etc. Computer skills – MS office and other software programmes AutoCad/ SketchUp beneficial but not required Own transport required (company vehicle available to travel to and from customers). Planning service visits to existing and new customer sites. Visiting existing/ new customer sites. Conduct on-site service which includes: Checking dosing, pH and conductivity equipment operation and condition Minor repairs / replacement to on-site equipment Checking chemical stock tank levels and chemical requirements Check systems (Open and closed cooling towers, closed loops, condensers, boilers, softeners, R.O systems etc.) operation and condition Collecting samples for analysis at in-house lab Delivering samples to in-house lab Writing reports which includes interpreting results, writing comments and recommendations Quotations – writing, sending, following up Ensuring all paperwork is ready/ complete / up to date per site – invoices, job cards, reports etc. Assisting equipment department on ad hoc basis Report writing If you have not heard from us within 3 months of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.
