The role of Equity Analyst in the Corporate Finance division focuses on providing critical input into the investment function, specifically related to sourcing, evaluating, analyzing, and managing a portfolio of strategic equity and quasi-equity investments Responsible to provide critical input to the investment function including the sourcing, evaluation/analysis and portfolio management of strategic investments (being equity and quasi equity) portfolio. Develop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders in the strategic equity investments value chain. Advise on risk appetite and risk profile at a business unit and strategic level. Key Performance Areas & Key Activities: 1. Source, evaluate and obtain approval of Strategic Equity Investment Applications (30%) Apply knowledge of pricing, evaluation of equity and quasi equity risk Provide equity and quasi equity analysis and recommendations Present applications to various credit committees Engage and support new business initiatives that may require equity investment expertise Spearhead the conceptualization and design of new equity investment products/structures Advise on investment products/structures Participate in negotiations for potential transactions impacting returns 2. Ensure prompt and efficient financial closure (20%) Prepare approval documents per regulations Provide input on critical legal documents for financial closure Ensure disbursements are done per signed agreements 3. Strategic equity and quasi equity investment portfolio management (20%) Identify and communicate key investment risks Support portfolio management and escalate appropriately Monitor changes in equity/quasi-equity risk Recommend portfolio strategies Liaise on restructuring, turnaround plans, legal actions for non-performing investments Value investments and prepare fair value adjustments Report on portfolio performance 4. Stakeholder management (10%) Build professional relationships with stakeholders Execute duties as Board member in investee companies Contribute to synergies across divisions 5. Implement an Exit Strategy from Investments (10%) Manage exit of investments through preparation, buyer identification, exit mechanisms 6.
