Technical or Engineering degreeExcellent math’s and IT SkillsExcellent communication writing and presentation skills.Project Management skillsBusiness skillsMinimum 5 years previous marine mining fabrication estimating experience. Duties and Responsibilities. You will be responsible for accurate estimates for metal work, engineering and fabrication projects ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining high quality standards.Work with sales team to prepare estimates and bids for existing and new proposed business.Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on estimates.Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labour expenses.Define Assumptions or Constraints: Identify any schedule or budget constraints, and how those will be resolved.Evaluate a product’s cost effectiveness or profitability and recommend ways to make a product more cost effective.Finalize the cost estimate.Maintain all files and data related to the specific project.Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labour requirements and other factors.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and co-workers.Time Management.
