Robert Walters South Africa This role will immerse the successful candidate in all aspects of the transaction lifecycle, from identifying and negotiating investments to closing deals and monitoring the portfolio. You will contribute to value-add initiatives and implement corporate governance disciplines within investee organisations. Key qualifications for the Deal Executive : CA(SA), CFA 5 years of experience in corporate finance, investment management, merchant banking, or private equity Familiarity with transaction processes, including identifying, negotiating, closing, and monitoring Good working knowledge of key commercial statutes and regulations Advanced skills in Excel and other financial modelling tools Excellent knowledge of financial markets and instruments Key responsibilities for the Deal Executive include but are not limited to : Assist in all stages of transactions, including identifying, negotiating, closing, and monitoring investments, as well as managing exits Contribute to the implementation of value-add initiatives and corporate governance in investee organisations Initiate investments within chosen areas of preference Maintain and leverage a substantial network of contacts Play a limited role in firm governance, including investor reporting Conduct due diligence and valuations Develop and maintain financial models Analyse market and investment opportunities Structure investments and provide negotiation support Assist in research activities Key personal skills for the successful Deal Executive : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High performer with self-awareness Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment High level of attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational and time management skills If you are passionate about private equity and investment management, and have strong experience in corporate finance, then please get in touch to learn more.
