A unique and exciting position is currently available for a confident and reliable Executive Secretary. The incumbent will provide organisational and administrative support to a retired surgeon who is a visionary with various entrepreneurial projects (related to amongst other the medical industry). This position holds immense growth potential and will provide the successful candidate with excellent business exposure. This full-time position will be office based (with travelling to meetings).
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
- Taking notes or dictation at meetings and provide general assistance during presentations
- Screening phone calls, emails, inquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate
- Organising and maintaining the employer’s diary and making appointments
- Organising and attending meetings and ensuring the employer is well-prepared for meetings
- Making travel arrangements
- Devising and maintaining office systems (e.g. data management and filing)
- Conducting research and compiling data as requested
- Liaising with clients, service providers and other parties on behalf of the employer when required
- A variety of life management tasks / personal assistance
The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, experience, and skills:
- A tertiary qualification (degree or equivalent)
- “Can do” attitude (willingness to provide support with various mundane and intricate tasks)
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office)
- Attention to detail
- Logical thought processes
- Excellent planning, organisational, prioritising, and coordination skills
- High level of integrity
- Reliable, responsible, and dependable personality
- Highly adaptable
- Friendly, helpful, good-natured, and cooperative attitude
- Good communication and interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English)
- Basic numerical and accounting skills
- Drivers licence and own transport
