SENTECH is looking for a technical expert with experience in broadcasting signal distribution to assist the organisation in leveraging its analogue infrastructure capacity while transitioning to digital platforms. The incumbent must be fully versed in analogue distribution technology, the regulatory environment and possess both technical and commercial experience of over 20 years. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the CEO, COO and CFO by providing technical advice and developing a decommissioning and disposal approach for analogue assets and any other information required for analogue TV data. Key Responsibilities Assess and advise on appropriate strategies for repurposing and disposal of retired assets to optimise asset value and returns. Assess OEM buy-back agreements to identify opportunities for SENTECH to derive value from retired assets in a structured way. Engage with key stakeholders to determine which assets to be disposed and repurposed. Analyse asset data and prepare comprehensive reports on asset utilization and management thereof. Develop insights and data for Sentech Strategic projects and assist to develop an approach for repositioning the media business. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making required to remodel media business. Evaluate asset performance and recommend adjustments to optimise asset value and returns. Qualifications: National Diploma or BTech or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Experience: 20 years' experience within the telecommunications industry with 10 years' experience operating at an executive or head level. Proven track record in the telecommunication industry. Experience in executing strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the South African telecommunications sector. Understanding the South African telecommunication regulatory regime. Comprehensive understanding of telecommunications and Media technologies and services. Understanding of signal broadcasting landscape. Ability to analyse and interpret data. Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
