Our client, a leading Chrome Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Export Specialist at their Corporate Office in Morningside, Sandton in Johannesburg.DescriptionPurpose of the job:To manage the shipments and transportation of goods by planning the Order Books and schedule optimally in accordance with Sales, Production and Transport Plans.Balanced Scorecard Pillars, Roles and Responsibilities:SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITYIdentify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to analyse, identify trends, initiate, mitigate, investigate and report SHEQ statusCUSTOMERSCustomer Relations:Render the right service first timeInteract with customers and familiarise yourself with operational concerns and any inherent peculiaritiesMaintain and enhance Samancor's reputation as a reliable and reputable supplierSuppliers Relations:Liaise and deal with product issues, i.e. quality and stock constraints, with SitesLiaise and deal with logistical issues (Ports, Transporters, Shipping lines, Rail, etc.)BUSINESS PROCESSESScheduling:Provide Production information to MarketingMaintain and update Master, Rail, Road & Shipping BooksMonitor production levels, ensuring they are in line with shipping requirements and/or Order BooksOptimise the Order Books to deal with imbalancesMonitor and optimise shipping costs and/or inventory levelsEnsure compliance with Marine Transit Insurance and other in- and external rules,regulations, policies and legislationArrange Site and Logistics Service Provider Shipping instructionsOversee all SAP Invoicing transactionsOversee the finalisation of all Customer Shipping documentationConclude all 3rd Party material Quality and Weight inspection certificates for all port incoming and final shipment end Customer analysisCoordinate the booking of container and bulk vessels freight desk or freight brokerCoordinate the dispatch to Local customersMonitor Rail service provider performance as per SLAADMINISTRATION:Exports:Liaise with plants or mines to check availability of materialBook suitable vessels for customer orders (container ships)Maintain Departmental IMS requirementsMaintain Customer Complaint registersManager MES Issues report ensuring zero toleranceQuality:Deal with and resolve customer complaintsGROWTHBusiness Improvement:Initiative and participate in improvement projects as requiredSHAREHOLDER VALUEFinancial ManagementAssist in the preparation of budgets, costing and/or any other shipping related reportingControl costs in area of responsibilityOversee all SAP invoicingReport Shipping Volumes (monthly and for the quarter)Report Weekly on the Shipping Status for the current monthAssist with all financial queries both internally and externally, i.e. from service providersEnsure Corporate GovernanceComply with Financial Policies and ProceduresProtect company assetsWorkplace Competencies:Skills:Flexibility and adaptabilityWork calm under pressureUnderstanding the Exports businessDocumentationsAdministrationsCompliances and Statutory RegulationsAdvance Microsoft OfficeAdvanced transport / material or other scheduling knowledgeAdvanced communication skills both writing and verbalAbility to work logically and systematicallyGood time managementAbility to make decisions and solves problems, as well as think laterally and offer solutionsIT literacy and the ability to handle and analyse electronic dataKnowledge:Advanced understanding and knowledge of total logistics and or supply chain management involving road, rail and shippingAdvanced understanding and knowledge of Total Quality ManagementProduct Knowledge of Chrome Ore and FerrochromeKnowledge and understanding of surface operations at Mine to producing a saleable product on stockpileKnowledge and understanding of post tap hole operations at Smelters to producing a saleable product on stockpileUnderstanding of operations related to rail and road transport at sites including movement to destinationRequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Degree or National Diploma in Logistics Management4 Years relevant experience in Shipping and Export of CommoditiesAdditional Qualifications:SAP Material Management experience or equivalentAdvanced Shipping and Export Certification Apply Now
