An expanding commercial property Company based in Umhlanga is looking for a dynamic and committed Facility Manager. The role will entail maintaining a portfolio of industrial and commercial buildings, managing employees, budgeting and forecasting, scheduling and arranging all repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections. Operational Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives. Create plans to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Continuously analyze operations to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions. Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a competent operations team. Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to team members. Set performance targets and conduct regular performance evaluations. Process Improvement: Identify and analyze bottlenecks in processes and propose improvements. Streamline workflows to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Implement best practices to optimize operational efficiency. Budgeting and Cost Control: Collaborate with the finance department to establish budgets for operational expenses. Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Vendor Management: Identify and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers. Negotiate contracts and maintain good relationships with vendors. Risk Management: Identify potential operational risks and develop contingency plans. Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols. Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on operational performance for management review. Utilize data analysis to make informed decisions and improve processes. Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with other department heads to align operations with organizational goals. Communicate effectively to ensure a smooth flow of information across teams. Manages day to day business while balancing the responsibilities of various business lines such as business analysis, vendor and risk management Manage a team of employees, oversee employee performance, mentor employees to improve performance and create and manage employee work schedules Create cost cutting efficiencies and optimize resources Create efficiencies in existing standard operating procedures Following instruction strictly and reporting daily to Management Overseeing and managing contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, catering and technology Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance and security Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water and heating, are maintained according to the BMS Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness Allocating and managing space between buildings Ensuring that facilities meet Government regulations and environmental, health and security protocols Advising businesses on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness Overseeing building projects, renovations or refurbishments Helping businesses to relocate to new offices and to make decisions about leasing Drafting reports and making written recommendations A Minimum of 3 years of working experience in facility management A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience Bachelors / Diploma qualification in finance or project management A good knowledge of IT and BMS packages Excellent communication skills, both in person and written Sound analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to make quick and effective decisions in highly strenuous environments The ability to lead and manage teams and projects Attention to detail and quality control High standards of customer service orientation Organisation, time management, prioritising and the ability to handle a complex, varied workload Effective leadership skills Apply Now
