Factory Manager - Durban

Purpose of the Role:
The overall development, performance and maintenance of the factorys activities to obtain the maximum efficiency, production, quality, service and profitability for the organisation

Role: Factory Manager
Qualification:
  • Matric
  • Degree in relevant field.
  • Quality control certification is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Data analysis and statistical aptitude.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Highly conscientious and diligent.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for plant operations including manufacturing, administration and planning.
  • Responsible for continuous quality improvement and system development.
  • Should be good at Production planning,
  • Materials Management and Productivity improvement.
  • Good experience in maintaining Industrial Relations and Human Resource Development.
  • Should have knowledge of Factories Act, Labour Law, Excise, Service Tax, and statutory compliances will be preferred.
  • All customer complaints, deviations from quality specifications, rewashes, shortages, repairs are recorded,
  • corrected, investigated and preventative measures are implemented
  • Ensure that the correct products are processed in the correct manner and delivered to the correct
  • customers at the correct time at the correct quality in full
  • Ensure that staff and facilities and other requirements as per the Occupational Health and Safety act 85 of
  • 1993 is adhered to
  • Ensure that all the requirements as per the Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997 is adhered to
  • Ensure that the requirements as per the Skills development Act 97 of 1998, Skills development levies act 9
  • of 1999 and the employment Equity act 55 of 1998 is adhered to
  • Ensure that all the procedures and processes as contained in the companys policies and procedures are followed and adhered to
  • Quality management system
  • Analyze data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can
    be made.
  • This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement and from other
    relevant resources
  • Co-ordinate continual improvements of the QMS, ensuring that evidence of corrective and preventive
    actions taken are recorded and reviewed
  • Ensure that vehicles and drivers comply with and adhere to all relevant legislation relating to the requirements as per applicable legislation
  • Provide leadership for the successful operation of the manufacturing plant including: Production, Quality control, Maintenance, etc.
  • Ability to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Strong leadership, team building and advance coaching skills.
  • Ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
  • Ability to co-ordinate and communicate effectively across all levels and departments.
