We are currently looking for a Field Service Technician. We're an established company, with over 60 years' experience in the food processing & laundry equipment industry, constantly looking at new products and innovations which will help improve our local industries. Today we can answer our client's calls for automation, processing techniques, product development and innovation in all food and laundry markets, including turnkey installations, maintenance and service. Due to our company growth, we're looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Port Elizabeth. Reporting to the Technical Director, the successful individual will be responsible for the service maintenance, repairs and installation of Food processing equipment and Industrial Laundry equipment. In conjunction with the Service Co-ordinator, they will control the output, planning and prioritising of workflow. The main purpose of the position is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximises customer retention, and increases profitability. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Conduct on site visits to clients to carry out fault finding and servicing of existing baking, freezing and laundry equipment as supplied by the company. Conduct on site visits to clients to carry out the installation, setup, testing and commissioning of new equipment on behalf of the company. Administer your time usage and the movement of stock in your possession making sure these are accurately accounted for booked out to client/s. Provide client training on newly installed and existing equipment offered by the company. Be willing and available to assist clients telephonically at stipulated times. At all times be medically fit to perform duties. Be willing to travel extensively within and outside the region and work beyond normal operating hours when required to do so. Render technical assistance and advice to other technicians Be willing to perform other duties within the companies over and above those stated above. Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems Follow all company's filed procedures and protocols Co-operate with technical team and share information across the organisation Matric / Grade 12 Certificate (English literacy essential) Post matriculation / N3 Trade Tested Electrician (Red Seal – Essential) Must be a qualified electrician with at least 2 years' experience post Trade Test – with traceable references. Knowledge on servo systems will be an advantage Basic practical mechanical experience on gearboxes, electric motors and brakes Valid driver's license Passport might be required Proven field service experience Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
