Finance Administrator - CT - South Africa

As a Finance Administrator, you will be an integral part of the finance team, responsible for assisting with the day-to-day financial operationsof the company. Your primary focus will be on maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting senior accounting staff in various tasks

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting duties Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system.

Help with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts.

Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.

Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes.

Support senior accountants with audits, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

Help with financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.

Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Stay updated on accounting principles, standards, and regulations.

Adhoc administrative tasks:

Data Management Use data management systems to access specific information as and when required.

Document Preparation:

Prepare moderately complex documents using a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Office.

Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for reports.

Insights and Reporting:

Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.

Personal Capability Building:

Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.

Operational Compliance:

Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization''''s policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards.

Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.

Data Collection and Analysis:

Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.

Information and Business Advice:

Resolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring the most complex issues to others.

Work Collaboratively:

Build a culture of respect and understanding across the organisation Recognise outcomes which resulted from effective collaboration between teams Build co-operation and overcome barriers to information sharing, communication and collaboration across the organisation Facilitate opportunities to engage and collaborate with external stakeholders to develop joint solutions.

Education:

Bachelors degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance

Experience:

Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems (7 to 12 months) Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Pastel). Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Salary - R20 - R30 000pa CTC
