Robert Walters South Africa The company is recruiting for a new role within its group finance team to enhance and optimise financial structures. This role requires balancing financial diligence with entrepreneurial energy, an analytical mindset, and a passion for African business. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the business holistically, designing and executing financial projects, and developing the financial control environment. The role also includes cashflow forecasting, liquidity management, managing foreign currency risk, engaging with lenders, reviewing legal agreements, and corporate finance and tax structuring. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams across the organisation, influencing and guiding financial practices and policies. As the company continues to expand its footprint in Africa, the Finance Business Partner will play a crucial role in supporting and driving this growth by ensuring robust financial management and strategic planning. Key qualifications for the Finance Business Partner : Qualified CA(SA) (non-negotiable) 3-5 years of post-article experience Corporate finance and Treasury exposure (NB) Retail Industry experience (Preferred) Ability to travel as needed Passion for Africa and willingness to work in the developing world context Key duties for the Finance Business Partner include but are not limited to : Gain a deep understanding of the operations, markets, and financial landscape to provide informed financial guidance and support Overlook and manage the group treasury function Develop and implement financial projects aimed at improving financial processes, optimising resource allocation, and enhancing overall financial performance Establish and maintain robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies Document the controls to facilitate transparency and accountability Develop granular cashflow forecasts to predict future financial positions, manage liquidity, and support strategic decision-making Oversee liquidity management across all operations, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet the company's obligations while optimising the use of excess cash Identify and manage foreign currency exposure to mitigate financial risks associated with currency fluctuations Maintain strong relationships with lenders, providing timely covenant and business case reporting to secure funding and support financial stability Assess and review legal agreements related to financial transactions, ensuring compliance and protecting the companies interests Develop and implement effective corporate finance and tax strategies to optimise the financial performance and ensure compliance with tax regulations Key personal skills for the successful Finance Business Partner : Analytical and detail-oriented Entrepreneurial spirit with financial diligence Strong communication and engagement skills If you are passionate about African business and have strong experience in finance and treasury management, then please get in touch to learn more.
