B degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance or related. A post-graduate degree would be advantageous
6-8 years' experience in financial management of which 3 years at a managerial level in a Public sector, preferably in a SETA environment
Advanced computer literacy MS Office package, Pastel, Caseware or other financial accounting or reporting systems
Knowledge of GAAP/GRAP
Professional designation CA, CMA,CIMA or CPA
Public service Legislation and regulatory framework PFMA and PPPFMA
Risk management methodology and Forensic investigation
Key responsibilities
Implement the financial management roadmap to ensure the effective execution and continuity of full financial management services and formulate and implement the consolidated finance functional operational plan aligned to the roadmap
Formulate financial management policies based on the financial roadmap and conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to the best practice and certify compliance, including regular reviews of financial management delegations of authority
Support the Chief Financial Officer in the development of strategies to expand organizational revenue with new and diverse funding sources through research and identify new and /or alternate funding opportunities
Manage and lead all initiatives to address internal control deficiencies identified by assurance providers including internal and external auditors
