A Strong manufacturing entity based in Johannesburg is looking for a Financial accountant specializing in Financial Reporting, Audit, Tax, and Consolidations, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and transparency of financial information for the Group and selected clients. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, local regulatory requirements, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, facilitating audits, handling tax matters, and implementing consolidation processes. Qualifications & Skills: Qualified CA(SA) with 3 – 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing field OR BCom with Honors and completed Articles with 5 – 8 years’ experience in the manufacturing field In-depth knowledge of IFRS, South African GAAP, and local tax regulations Job description: Generate accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including various reconciliations as required. Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure completeness and accuracy. Coordinate and lead the external audit process, liaising with auditors and our American counterparts to provide necessary documentation and explanations. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure audit readiness. Address audit findings and recommendations, working towards continuous improvement in financial processes. Stay abreast of changes in South African tax regulations and ensure the company's compliance. Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT/PAYE/CIT), ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Provide support during tax audits and collaborate with external tax advisors when necessary. Stay abreast of changes in South African tax regulations and ensure the company's compliance. Manage the consolidation process for the organisation and our clients, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of consolidated financial statements. Work closely with subsidiaries and business units to gather financial data for consolidation purposes. Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminate any discrepancies. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Provide payroll support and processing of employees pay in Sage payroll.
