Financial Accountant - Cape Town City Centre

Venture Capital Group in Cape Town CBD is looking for a young ambitious Accountant to joining their growing business.

Duties and responsibilities

Preparing financial reports.
Financial data reporting.
Monitoring internal controls.
Overseeing and preparing income statements.
Participating in budgeting processes.
Managing financial transactions.
Streamlining accounting functions and operations.
Developing plans for financial growth.
Evaluating and managing risk.
Coordinating audit processes.

Accounts opening Balance Adjustments
Trial balance analysis & corrections
Month & Year-end Adjustments
Depreciation, Wages Journals
Control Accounts
Clearing Suspense Account
Adjusted Trial balance
Aged debtor & Creditor analysis
Production of Year-end Accounts

Must have had experience in Pastel with Loan accounts and Investment account knowledge. Stockbroking advantageous

Completed BCom degree,
Accounting degree or diploma
SAIPA
Complete understanding of PAYE, UIF, VAT, Tax regulations and other statutory requirements
Minimum of 3 years experience in bookkeeping or financial management with a company
Good communication skills
Strong relationship builder which will be beneficial when dealing with debtors and creditors
Experience with Xero accounting system will be beneficial but not essential update and maintain the general ledger
Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system
Recording of debits and credits
Maintain the trial balance, by a reconciliation of general ledgers
Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions
Use knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements, General Filing, Cosec filing and liaising with Secretarial team. Assisting and reporting to EA

Hands on approach to all functions relating to the accounts department for African offices
Ensuring clients receive their invoices and statements at the required times
Managing the debtors and ensuring the company always recovers it money for the services it has provided
Petty cash management for all African offices
Ensuring the accounting system is always up to date and accurate
Reporting to senior management on a global level
SARS submissions for PAYE/VAT
Bank reconciliation
