Financial Accountant - Vredenburg

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting
  • SAIPA Registered.
  • Must have completed Articles
  • 1-2 Years post Articles experience
  • Retail or Roofing or Steel Industry experience advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative:

  • Assisting with the management of accounts and ensuring accuracy of the accounting records,
  • Assisting with allocations of income and expenses in the ledger accounts,
  • Assisting with inter-group transactions and postings,
  • Assisting with inter-group loan account transactions,
  • Assisting with all statutory company requirements,
  • Assisting with payroll of subsidiary companies within the group,
  • Assisting with costing of manufacturing within the group,
  • Assisting with internal control procedures,
  • Drafting of management accounts and financial statements,
  • Assist in the compiling of reports and analytics,
  • Assist with the development of policies and procedures,
  • Assist with the daily reconciliation of bank records,
  • First authorization and loading of payments as required by the company policies,
  • Assist in accounting system processing,
  • Assist with training and mentoring of the Financial Departments employees where required.

Communication:

  • Communicate any findings or errors to the Financial Manager and or CEO of any theft, corruption or mismanagement of company funds or assets.
  • Communicate proper instructions of company policies and procedures to the employees where necessary.
  • Communicate all important information with regards to changes or updates in legislation that could have a possible impact on the Group of Companies.

Training and Development

  • Assist with mentoring and development of employees within the Financial Department that need guidance and or help with daily job functions and or long-term mentoring and development.

Policies and Procedures

  • Assist in ensuring that all policies and procedures of the Group of Companies are implemented and followed by the employees in all departments and divisions.
  • Assist in development and drafting of policies and procedures (where necessary).

  • Follow the POPI act with regards to the safe keeping of employee information.
  • Always treat all information at a high level of confidentiality and do not breach the employer or employee trust.
  • Only disclose such information as is required without breaking confidentiality.
