Financial Accountant - South Africa
Job Requirements
Bcom Accounting or finance qualification - Honours Degree is advantageous
Matric
5 to 10 years of experience is required
Candidate ideally from a Manufacturing industry.
ERP Knowledge
Job Duties
Management of the financial accounting function up to the balance sheet
Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register.
Management of financial accounting staff.
Monthly presentation of department KPIs to heads of department
Statutory return preparations
Month and year-end closing procedures
Foreign creditors cycle
Match invoices to shipment
Collate complete document pack.
Subsidiary accounts: Run Shipment Control Report
Confirm items on the Shipment control report with the procurement department!
Close required shipments
Agree on shipment control report to GL.
Foreign creditors: Run Foreign age analysis.
Agree on foreign age to GL.
Sundry: Include due invoices in month-end payment run
Cashbook processing
Process debtors receipts from customers
Fixed Asset Register Maintenance
Asset Acquisition Control Account
Capitalise prior month projects, categorised as 100% complete!
Run Depreciation
Update Fixed Asset Register Excel with Embrace export.
Agree FAR to GL balances.
Cost center Report Preparation
Reviewing cost centre reports with heads of department monthly.
Prepare a Journal to correct allocations if necessary.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Month-end payment run.
Prepare month-end run with local age as a base.
Include all sundry payments to be made.
Capitalised finance leases and instalment sale agreements
Monthly processing including:
