The Accountant is responsible for supervising and handling issues related to compliance with financial laws or regulations, and is also responsible for managing and supervising supplier clerks and ensuring supplier accounts are accurate and up to date. To inform and educate management of financial regulatory compliance risks and mitigation thereof. Mitigate non-compliances that may lead to fines and suspensions. To identify and advise management of relevant financial compliance risks. To develop and implement financial compliance controls to the financial department. To participate in formal and ad hoc committee meetings when required to do so. Strengthen and maintain better relations with other quality assurance providers within Jumbo Brands through regular interaction. Assist in preparing management accounts monthly. Ensure VAT compliance of the company. Ensure SBL compliance with SARS. Ensure adherence to loan obligations. Payroll Sign Off and Payment Processing (in assistance with HR) and ensuring PAYE compliance with SARS. Assisting the Financial Manager with internal and external audit requirements. Overseeing the statutory requirements of the company. Provide management with supplier cashflow forecast bi-weekly. Overseeing the supplier departments and function. Accounting Degree or relevant qualification (NQF6/7) Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar position. External/Internal Auditing would be an advantage.
