An industry leader in the mining sector which is based in the North-West Province and within the Orkney area, is recruiting for the position of a Financial Accounting Reporting Manager Experience The successful incumbent must possess at least eight (8) years’ experience in terms of financial reporting. Experience within the mining industry or related industries is essential Formal qualifications / minimum requirements The successful incumbent must be a Chartered Accountant The successful incumbent must be part of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Bachelor of Accounting Sciences in Financial Accounting Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences Inherent requirements and skills applicable to this vacancy Advanced levels of proficiency in developing and implementing integrated solutions to maximise value and ensure productivity, a safe and sustainable working environment and delivery against plans Emerging proficiency in the practical application of the Operating Model in workflows, configurations, routines and its relevance to the business Advanced data analysis and management for decision-making Advanced management of work packages across a portfolio of project activities Proficient in mine financial systems and related legislation Advanced computer literacy Proficient in financial reporting Advanced knowledge of accounting, SA tax and Companies Act Understanding financial systems and standards Responsibilities Assist in new information system design and implementation (i.e Project impacts on financial reporting) Prepare monthly group reporting, ensuring key issues are highlighted with focus on key changes and trend analysis Liaising with the group financial reporting team in resolving queries on the financial data set Assistance with the preparation of the statutory financial statements of the Group Throughout the year, analyse financial performance, research and resolve issues, including but not limited to identifying the impact of operating anomalies, adverse financial trends, changes in policies and reporting requirements and evaluating the impact on reported results. Liaise effectively with key business contacts and build up strong working relationships (e.g. business unit operations, the Group reporting team and performance reporting team, as well as internal and external auditors) Management of the Chart of Accounts and interaction with financial and performance reporting systems and processes Share and re-apply best practice financial reporting, including development efficiencies by way of identifying areas for improvement and using technology to improve the current reporting process Preference will be given to candidates from the designated groups, with specific reference to persons who have a disability.
