Job Purpose: The Financial Administrator is responsible for any financial related task of the campus and ensures all finance administration is complied with on site. Duties & Responsibilities: This position records the day-to-day financial transactions of the Campus and is responsible for writing up/recording, the daily receipts, payments in the correct ledger account. Assist with cash sales collected and banking, Responsible for the Cash up procedure and daily banking of all receipts, electronically or on site Responsible for providing copy of account statements on request. Billing of sundry cash receipts (Student cards/supplementary exams/special exams) Assist Account payers/students with Account queries (if cannot assist - Directing account payer/student telephone/booth, to talk to Central debtors Daily reconciliation of all Cash ups/manual receipts Refund requests, hand letter of requirements to Account payer/student; load all necessary documents on cheque tracking. Assist with suspension of student cards – from list provided by Central debtors. Ad hoc responsibilities as specified. Minimum Requirements: Higher Certificate in Accounting/ Finance Diploma in Accounting is ideal. 1-2 years’ experience as a Financial Administrator Experience within a higher education institute is preferable. Key Competencies: Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data. Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spread sheets. Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework. Ability to manage time effectively. Attention to detail. Customer service orientated. Ability to effectively cope with change. Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure. Be able to work in a team environment. Effective communication skills Salary: Market related.
