Financial Analyst (Contract) - Cape Town City Centre

Responsibilities:
  • Produce monthly cost reporting & coordinate cost review meetings with cost centre owners.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis of actual vs budget on operating expenses.
  • Prepares and presents divisional operating expenses financial reports and variance explanations as required by Refinery Leadership Team at monthly governance meeting.
  • Provide financial guidance to refinery business unit through accounting policy & IFRS interpretation and application, tax implications of proposed actions, capex vs. operating expenses decisions etc.
  • Participate in special projects as directed by Manager, Refinery Finance. Projects are focused on continuous improvement in the areas of cost (SAP, ARIBA, cost reporting).
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Fully qualified CA(SA) or CIMA non-negotiable
  • 2-5 years of post-qualification experience is highly preferable, especially experience in cost analysis and reporting.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability and confidence to work well with a broad spectrum of personnel across the organization and constructively provide guidance within a team environment.
  • SAP experience and knowledge would count in candidates favour.
