Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Professional accounting qualification such as SAIPA or SAICA Articles
At least 5 years of proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, specifically within the manufacturing industry.
Strong fluency in financial management software and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and management skills.
Strong leadership capabilities and superb interpersonal communication.
Knowledgeable about South African tax laws and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
Conduct regular ledger maintenance, as well as auditing and analyzing financial performance.
Supervision of an accounting team to ensure the timely closing of accounts, payroll, and other financial transactions.
Implement and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports.
Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
Ensure compliance with the national and industry-specific statutory and regulatory requirements.
