Location: South Africa (open to opportunities within South Africa or as an expat on the African Continent) Overview: We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Group Financial Officer to lead our clients finance function across multiple entities and industries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, strategic planning, and leadership, with a proven ability to drive financial performance and support business growth. Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the group's financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives, driving growth, profitability, and shareholder value. Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes, providing insights into financial performance, trends, and risks. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks through effective risk management practices, including insurance coverage, hedging strategies, and internal controls. Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow projections and optimize working capital to support operational needs and strategic initiatives. Capital Management: Evaluate and prioritize capital allocation decisions, including investments, acquisitions, and divestitures, to maximize returns and shareholder value. Tax Strategy: Develop and implement tax planning initiatives to optimize tax efficiency and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Financial Governance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards, maintaining the highest ethical standards in financial reporting and business practices. Investor Relations: Serve as a key liaison for investors, analysts, and other stakeholders, providing transparency and strategic communication on financial performance and corporate strategy. Leadership and Team Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA or CPA/CA qualification preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership positions. Strong track record of success in driving financial performance and operational excellence in diverse industries. Experience working in South Africa or on the African continent is highly desirable. Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proven leadership ability, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting tools. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and best practices in financial management.
