Job overview My client, a leading manufacturer of catering and baking equipment, is looking for a Fitter/Machine Builder to join their team in Bellville South, Cape Town. Key responsibilities - Assemble Gearboxes, Pulleys, Sprockets, Chains, Conveyors, Rollers, Bearing fitment. - Make use of all electrical hand tools (Drill, Grinder, Tap Machine) include normal spanners and hand tools. - Use Mig/Tig welding machine Required Skills and Knowledge Trade test certificate essential Sheet metal parts industry experience Own transport and be able to come/go to work when working overtime. Sense of responsibility Supervisory experience Positive attitude and enthusiastic Know all sorts of Fasteners, Bolts, Nuts, Screw, Rivet, Rivnuts, Tapping and Die Nut Cutting of Threads Mechanical and Technical skills (Electrical an advantage) Must be Healthy and Fit to climb up ladders, Stairs, Pedestals, Work at Heights. Safety Conscious (Any previous safety course an advantage,) Be able to use the following measuring equipment: Vernier, Angle Protractor, Squares, Spirit Levels and a Tape Measure. Know the different types of Sheet Metal (Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Galvanized, Aluminium) Angle Iron, Tubing, Flat Bar, Channels, Sectional Material - Tig welding of thin stainless steel and mild steel parts
