The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of crushing equipment in line with prescribed safety practices and production standards. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of crushing plant operations and possess excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills. • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of crushing plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. • Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and faults in machinery, and promptly carry out necessary repairs or replacements. • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems in crushing equipment, utilizing various tools and measuring devices. • Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to schedule and execute maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner. • Adhere to safety protocols and comply with all relevant regulations and company policies. • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including repair details, parts used, and maintenance logs. • Collaborate with the maintenance team and other relevant departments to address plant maintenance requirements and minimize downtime. • Communicate with equipment suppliers and manufacturers to procure spare parts and components as needed. • Train and mentor junior maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. • Stay updated with the latest advances in crushing plant technology, equipment, and maintenance procedures. • Trade qualification as a Fitter essential. • Minimum of 10 years' experience in maintenance and servicing of crushing plant and screening equipment in the mining industry. • Strong knowledge and understanding of crushing plant operations, maintenance processes, and equipment components. • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing repairs on crushers, screens, conveyors, and related machinery. • Excellent understanding of safety standards and regulations governing the mining industry. • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. • Willingness to work in physically demanding conditions, occasionally in confined or elevated spaces.
