Carry out plant inspections and schedules as per scheduled maintenance manual. Carry out maintenance, overhauls gearboxes, pumps, fans, repairs on hydraulic etc. Attends to breakdowns by checking, inspecting faults, and replacing defective parts. Carries out schedules as per schedule maintenance book. Maintain the equipment and ensure 100% plant availability. Perform Project work, such as installation of conveyors when required. Carry out fault finding on pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Perform standby duties as per artisan's roster. Matric plus N4 in mechanical engineering / fitting. Completed an apprenticeship in mechanical fitting / fitter & turner. A recognized Trade Test certificate, mechanical fitting / fitter & turner. At least 5 years mechanical fitting experience in heavy industrial environment. A good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. Knowledge of mills, turbines will be advantageous. Good understanding of the principles and techniques associated with condition based monitoring and modern alignment. Computer literate & conversant with planned maintenance system. Ability to read and understand drawings and diagrams. Good fault-finding / problem solving skills. Basic rigging and turning experience will be an added advantage.
