We are currently seeking a skilled Fitter and Turner for an available opportunity in the Stutterheim area. Key Requirements and Skills: Completed Matric / NTC 3 qualification Completed Trade Test as a Fitter and Turner (Red Seal Trade Certificate) Sound knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; conveyors; gear boxes and belt and chain drives Experienced in sawmill or related equipment would be highly advantageous Proven welding experience is a must Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment Code EB license and own vehicle is essential Strong communication skills and command of the English language (speak, read and write) Ability to communicate in Xhosa would be advantageous Applicant must be medically fit and of sober habits Applicants must be willing to work irregular hours and perform standby duties; be available after hours and over weekends Duties and Responsibilities: The successful person would be required, but not limited to: Carry out mechanical maintenance and repair works on all plant and ancillary equipment in the department Be responsible for new plant and machinery installations Maintain job cards and timeously record all work carried out Ensuring an up-to-date knowledge of mechanical plant and equipment on site Maintaining housekeeping and total compliance with safety standards Assisting with on the job training of apprentices and semi-skilled artisans Requisitioning of spares and materials Assisting in the formulation and implementation of planned maintenance programs
