About YOU:
We're seeking an experienced Logistics Manager for one of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in logistics and customer relationship management, along with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently. Strong communication and organizational skills are a must, and proficiency in MS Office Suite is desirable. Your role will involve liaising with teams to address organizational needs, overseeing courier performance, providing guidance, and fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between staff and the organization. Additionally, you'll ensure our vehicles are well-maintained to optimize service delivery while minimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient coordination of all project administrative tasks.
- Effectively communicate with clients, including nursing, hospital, and clinic staff, leveraging strong customer relationship management skills.
- Process and manage all project documents and reports, maintaining both electronic and hardcopy filing systems.
- Maintain and review logistics spreadsheets for fuel usage and mileage, optimizing efficiency.
- Prepare monthly staff schedules and rosters for all regions, ensuring timely distribution to couriers.
- Develop and assess route plans to improve turnaround time.
- Schedule and oversee vehicle maintenance to uphold fleet performance.
- Submit weekly reports for review by the Commercial Financial Manager.
- Supervise courier teams and fleet operations across all regions.
- Provide logistical support for project activities, such as specimen pick-up and stock delivery.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure completion of bi-monthly checklists.
- Coordinate vehicle servicing and maintenance in all regions.
- Plan for future vehicle sales and purchases.
- Manage courier route planning to meet required turnaround times while minimizing costs.
- Ensure compliance with scheduled routes and monitor driver behavior, taking corrective action as needed.
- Prioritize fleet safety and implement measures to uphold driver and vehicle safety.
- Demonstrate proficiency in OHSAS 18001 procedures for safe handling of biological and chemical materials in laboratory and clinical environments.
- Adhere to Quality Management System protocols and Standard Operating Procedures to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Education & Skills
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Logistics
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar role
- Advanced Microsoft Word & Excel Skills (create spreadsheets, run formulas, pivoting)
- Advanced filing skills (both electronic file management and hardcopy filing protocols)
