Floor Supervisor - Secunda

PURPPOSE OF JOB:

The Supervisor is responsible for the following: Making sure workshop employees are present and ready for work. Cleanliness of vehicles and the workshop. Making sure vehicles are utilized daily by planning routes for delivery and collections at various points. Loading and offloading wheels with the forklift. Completing all job cards for all mines and Sasol. Updating job card registers. Assisting with passenger vehicles and completing pre checklists (inspections) on fitments that are done. Assisting with fitments. Doing all forklift fitments (forklift press training done). Assisting at Counter when needed. Updating and replacement of all tools – and registers. Packing of stores when stock comes in or going out. Stock counting Weekly and Monthly with Storeman. Branding of tyres that needs to go out for delivery. Standby. Basic maintenance. Assisting with breakdowns.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

This position will be responsible for the following 4 Key Performance Areas:

1. Making sure all deliveries and collections are done daily

2. Completing Job card registers and all job cards daily

3. Standby and breakdowns

4. Continuous improvement on work done daily by himself and all workshop employees

Financial Responsibilities:

1. Manage Workshop Activities

· Supervising and co-ordinating workshop activities to be effective and efficient in line with SOPs (SOP’s not in place yet)

· Ensure that Call Out Sheet are completed in full

· Ensure that daily duties are performed and maintained at the highest standard

Customer Responsibilities:

1. Customer

· Ensure that Customer is satisfied with wheels and fitments done

2. Provide outstanding customer service

· Always provide first in class service delivery within SOP parameters and assist in resolving customer queries

Operational Responsibilities:

1. Compliance to Policies & Procedures

· Drive the compliance and implementation of SOPs and Policies to ensure that there are no stock losses (when SOP’s are available and implemented)

2. Inventory Control & Management

· Drive the completion of weekly and monthly stock counts with Storeman, ensuring that variances are resolved or accounted for immediately.

· Ensure the proper Despatch processes are in place so that there is always tight control at the exit points to the warehouse – no stock should leave without being invoiced on a system generated invoice. Done together with the Storeman

3. Job Cards

· Completing job cards upon inspection of wheels that came in from mines and Sasol. Updating Job card register

4. Passenger fitments

· Assisting with passenger fitments and completing pre use checklists for vehicles.

5. Forklift Fitments

· Doing all forklift fitments (newly trained on forklift press

6. Loading and off loading

· Loading and offloading wheels with forklift

7. Counter

· Assisting with Counter when needed

8. Workshop and Breakdown tools

· Updating all tool registers and making sure all tools are in good working condition, and arrange replacements when needed

9. Stores

· Packing of stores with storeman when stock goes out or comes in

10. Tyre branding

· Doing all tyre branding on wheels that needs to be delivered

11. Tyre fitments

· Assisting when tyre fitments for customers (include the spray of rims ect.)

12. Standby

· Weekly standby (per month)

13. Basic Maintenance

· Doing basic maintenance on machines and where needed

14. Breakdowns

· Assisting with breakdown and making sure breakdown books are completed

15. General duties

· All general duties when required by Cheri, Riaan and so on

· Have oversight of the effectiveness of training by making sure that skills are utilised and applied

· Coach staff on operational challenges

2. Housekeeping

· Ensure that our professional corporate image is maintained

· Have a zero-tolerance approach to clutter, untidiness and disorderliness

· Monitor and ensure that work areas are neat and conducive to efficient workflow

· Monitor and escalate any health and safety risks to Safety Rep

DECISION MAKING CRITERIA

2. SOPs

a. Discussing SOP’s with employees (if SOP is implemented)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

1. Matric

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge:

1. Stores and Distribution know-how

2. Customer service skills

  1. Sage Evolution (in progress)
  2. ATT/AMS systems and procedures
  3. All round business acumen

6. Tyre knowledge

7. Mining Operations know-how preferable
