Calling all Food and Beverage Fundies Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a passionate F&B Operations Manager for a Luxury Hotel based in the City Centre of the beautiful Cape Town. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the day-to-day logistics of food and beverage service and to increase productivity and reduce costs. Be interactive, intuitive, creative, active and visible in all food and beverage areas to ensure that high standard of guest relations and service is maintained. In conjunction with the Heads of Departments, ensure that all maintenance and repair problems that need attention are reported to the relevant parties and ensure that the appropriate action is taken. In conjunction with the Heads of Departments, ensure the safekeeping and proper storage of all operating equipment in the correct storage areas. Oversees the co-ordination and preparation of staff rosters for all F&B outlets to ensure adequate coverage in all F&B outlets according to occupancy. Supervise and co-ordinate pricing and preparation of menus, beverage and wine lists, and liaise with local suppliers In liaison with the Food & Beverage Director, ensure that the food and beverage costs are maintained at their agreed levels and the correct profit margins are achieved. Assist with updating and implementing departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Responsible for the implementation of formal training plans and to conduct on-the-job training sessions for all employees on a regular basis. Support F&B outlet management with all F&B related tasks by providing hands – on assistance in the various outlets as and when required. Responsible for the development and maintenance of all department control procedures. Ensure that all the operational standards set for all processes are followed and adhered to. Ensure through regular monitoring of guest feedback, queries and complaints for delivering prompt, efficient and accurate service. Address any grievance and counselling issues among the department. Work with all F&B Outlet Managers and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise. Management Responsibilities: Create, update and implement departmental standard operating procedures. Ensure that operational standards and procedures of the department are adhered to. Implement measures and systems to improve cost efficiency and the internal and external customer experience. Budget, plan and monitor departmental expenditure. Ensure and protect the security and confidentiality of all guest, Employee, and Company information. Ensure an up-to-date knowledge of industry developments, and monitor current trends, practices and systems to make recommendations for improvements. Attend Company meetings as required. Liaise with other departments and or divisions to ensure good communication and provide support Ensure that regular team meetings are held and that all Company information is frequently shared. Communicate any relevant annual, quarterly or monthly targets and metrics. Work towards ensuring high levels of Employee engagement, as well as positively contribute to the Employee engagement levels of the Company overall. Promote ongoing learning & development, ensuring that mandatory training is attended by all Employees and all available training opportunities is effectively communicated. Identify individual training needs or development opportunities for Employees and action or plan interventions accordingly, in conjunction with Learning & Development and or Human Resources. Comply with the prescribed people management requirements and or processes of the Company, which includes but is not limited to, Employee reviews, appraisals, key performance indicators, mandatory training, performance and disciplinary management. Effectively manage staffing and scheduling to ensure high levels of productivity, scheduling that reflects business levels and adherence to budgeted payroll/staffing costs.
