Forwarding Controller - Cape Town Region

ACS is looking for an experienced Forwarding Controller to build and maintain effective and credible relationship with both internal and external client(s).Facilitate proactive engagement with ACS business (local, international, cross-trades) and key stakeholders to ensure ALL clients' KPI's are comfortably achieved. This includes workflow management across the client teams, persuasive negotiations to protect clients KPI and compilation/publishing of IOPs (Internal Operating Procedures). Responsibilities includes but not limited to: Origin management Actively drive origin compliance with vendors across all origins (with GAM and directly with outports) Maintain one origin Contact List for all origin offices Client liaison (internal and external) Engage with client(s) and support their business objectives Be the interpreter between client and ACS business and vice versa Develop and sustain positive relationships with clients Proactively propose workable solutions to client to close and/or improve gaps and processes Proactive and productive influencing and motivation of ACS team and stakeholders within the end-to-end process from training to mentorship and appropriate corrective action Effectively deal with all client queries and complaints and ensure the timely and accurate resolution of escalated issues Carrier liaison Liaise with carriers and any other service provider to enable smooth end-to-end process Manage carriers and any other 3 rd party relationships to the benefit of client(s) and ACS business' Reporting Accountable and responsible for timeous and accurate reporting as per clients' requirements such as status reports, progress checks, delayed notices, carrier performance etc.) Matric is essential, a relevant tertiary qualification preferable 3 years' experience in the same or similar role is essential Knowledge on various shipping modes (Sea and air freight, multimodal and Courier) is essential Knowledge on incoterms advantageous Market related
