We are seeking a dedicated Fraud Prevention Officer to join an international campaign in our dynamic Durban office. In this role, you’ll take the lead on influencing and leading operational compliance to stay ahead of emerging threats and fraud prevention to provide a safe and secure online shopping experience for customers. Our Fraud prevention Officer will play a crucial role in designing and implementing operational best practices within our Fraud Response team. You will be responsible for analysing data, identifying fraud trends, and deploying countermeasures to mitigate risks effectively. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive process improvements and enhance our fraud prevention capabilities. What you will do in this role As a Fraud Prevention Officer on our team, you’ll be: Designing and influencing operational best practices within the Fraud Response team. Managing daily execution of new/special programs to combat fraud. Analysing data to identify fraud trends and proactively acting to improve efficiency. Deploying countermeasures and analysing their impact on fraud prevention efforts. Monitoring evolving fraud clusters and propose new rule criteria using SQL. Reporting on daily fraud trends and cluster characteristics to key stakeholders. Leading deep dive efforts and prepare executive escalation summaries for complex fraud cases. Collaborating with internal teams to articulate and prioritise feature needs for investigative tool sets. Communicating analytical insights to key fraud stakeholders to drive informed decision-making What you’ll need Matric Specialisation in compliance or experience with general operational compliance implementation in South Africa Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SQL for data analysis Intermediate experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) Understanding and knowledge of the operational outsourcing industry, contact centre systems and technology as well as operational practices and processes involved in contact centre management Proven track record of introducing and managing change Clear criminal and credit records It will be a plus if you have: Experience with e-commerce fraud prevention tools and techniques is a plus Experience with internal auditing Experience as Team Leader in regulated environment Please note that the appointment will be made in line with the in line with the company’s EE plan.
