The Opportunity This position works out of our Roodepoort Offices, Abbott Place in the Abbott Diabetes Care ( ADC) Division where we are committed to providing people with diabetes the freedom to continuously monitor and track their glucose levels with unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and no painful fingerstick. What You'll Do: To ensure consistent sales growth and achieving of sales targets in assigned territories through the uptake of new sensing technology and other glucose monitoring devices. Promoting of Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) range of products to; GP's, endocrinologists, diabetologists, physicians, patients, hospitals, wholesalers, non-clinical buyers and/or pharmacy groups. Responsible for the management of division (ADC) developed plans and strategies to gain market share and increase share of voice within the sector of responsibility. Cultivate and maintain rapport with key opinion leaders and healthcare practitioners. Support the business where necessary with buying groups, private hospitals and retail sector accounts. Communicate and report effectively to all levels of ADC staff and management in a timely manner, this includes territory performance reports, stock registers and expense management. Plan healthcare professional (HCP) training and educational events, round table discussions, and tearoom appointments. Assemble and complete all relevant documentation, secure internal approvals and execute in a compliant and ethical manner in accordance with Abbott's policies and procedures. Organize and host monthly digital and face to face patient education sessions using Abbott's approved tools. Educate HCPs and patients on the use of the FreeStyle Libre digital health tools and platforms available for the interpretation of glucose data and reports. Obtain/place and follow up on any orders placed through any of the distribution channels available. Attend congresses and cycle meetings as and when required - this includes events that might take place over a weekend. Maintain territory and customer records daily via the approved Abbott tools. Ensure coverage and frequency targets are met monthly. Assess performance levels, identify root causes and develop/communicate action plans for continuous improvement. Actively support the market access, customer service and marketing team. Represent Abbott in a professional manner that aligns with company image, ensuring activities comply with legal and ethical standards. Strict compliance to Abbott's values, policies and safety procedures. Identify new business opportunities. Support base business (glucometer and strips) training/education of private hospitals, patients, and clinics when required. Required Qualifications Relevant Medical and/or Commercial Tertiary qualification is essential. Preferred Experience: A minimum of 5 years medical sales experience ideally having dealt with endocrinologists, diabetologists, general practitioners, dieticians and diabetes nurse educators. Candidate is expected to have good territory knowledge of the JHB West. Knowledge of Free State and Northern Cape territories advantageous. Extreamly strong technical skills required, this includes computer skills, online applications, creating and hosting of online events, interpretation and presenting of data on monthly basis Good communicator and self motivated. Comfortable presenting infront of large audiences. Flexibility to assist patients and HCPs after hours and over weekends. Key account management experience. Business planning acumen and ability.
