Groenland Water Users Association (GWUA) is responsible for the management, maintenance and distribution of water extracted from the Eikenhof dam to members of their association. Further responsibilities include the protection of rivers, water courses and water resources in the Groenland catchment area. This position is based in Grabouw. They are currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to appoint as their General Manager. Key responsibilities will include: Daily management of operations, staff, and office Asset management Financial management Operation and maintenance of waterworks Catchment management and protection of water resources Public relations Human resource management Requirements: Engineering/Agricultural degree or diploma with 15 years' experience in agriculture of which 5 years must be in senior management Financial qualification or 5 years' experience with overall business financial tasks (Including budgeting, creditors, debtors, management reports, payroll, etc.) Knowledge and experience of working with water use rights Knowledge and experience of catchment management activities Mechanically minded, electrical knowledge and water reticulation system understanding (e.g. pump curves, energy consumption, pipe flow characteristics, pressure control, protection systems to reduce pipe breaks, pump system automation and control Knowledge of and experience in interpreting financial reports and producing management reports Strong management, people management and leadership skills Decision making, planning and problem-solving skills Ability to interact, communicate and execute at an executive level Ability to work independently, accurately and adhere to deadlines By Submitting your information and application you hereby confirm: That you have read and understood our Privacy Policy ( www.hopcal.co.za ).
