GENERAL WORKER - Wellington

General Worker / Gate Keeper

Main Functions/Key Performance Areas:

1. Vehicle and Equipment Inspection
- Inspect trailers and flatbeds, report errors, and ensure corrections.
- Check vehicles are fully refueled with diesel and in roadworthy condition.
- Ensure correct and well-maintained equipment on all vehicles.

2. Equipment Management
- Oversee equipment distribution and condition.
- Report discrepancies to operations support.
- Issue tools and equipment, maintain a register.

3. Maintenance and Repairs
- Repair packing crates, boxes, pallets, and apply rust prevention products.
- Manually handle goods, attach labels, mark, and open or close packages.
- Inflate, replace, and repair vehicle tires.

4. Loading and Unloading
- Assist with container loading/unloading.
- Cover/remove tarpaulins and other coverings.
- Handle goods without power equipment.

5. Premises and Cleanliness
- Ensure premises, equipment storage, and operational areas are clean and tidy.
- Replace towels, soap, and toilet paper.
- Clean goods, containers, uniforms, and overalls.

6. Manual Labor Tasks
- Shovel or spread materials, drill, scrape, or sand by hand.
- Operate hand cranes, hoists, and other manual equipment.
- Assist craftsmen without using trade tools independently.
