MARULA PLATINUM LIMITED INTERNAL/EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT GEOLOGY MANAGER DATE OF DISTRIBUTION 21.02.2024 CLOSING DATE 01.03.2024 PURPOSE OF THE JOB:To tactically and operationally ensure effective management of the geological function at Marula. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: A BSc Honours degree in Geology is essential. Registration as a "professional scientist" with the SA Council for Natural Scientific Professions is essential. Masters (MSc) degree in Geology will be advantageous. Efficiency in DATAMINE software will be advantageous. A minimum of 7-9 years of mining geology experience, preferably in a hard rock environment, is essential. Membership of the Geological Society of SA is essential. A valid medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: The successful candidate will be responsible for: To maintain and develop technical standards via scientific auditing. To ensure proper financial principles are adhered to in the management of the geological/exploration budget(s) To provide high-level professional advice regarding mineral resources and reserves, inclusive of new business development initiatives To facilitate multi-disciplinary functioning in the planning and geological exploration of new mining areas To constantly conduct project evaluation studies to ensure efficient, economical, and progressive mining. To guide and manage the geological function on tactical and operational management, inclusive of effective people management of geology specialists and contractors. To do accurate and timeous management reporting on geological issues for management information purposes and liaise with relevant role players. To ensure that adequate geological skills and resources (qualified geologists) are available to the Group and that they are given the required exposure and experience.
