To consolidate and prepare accurately and timely Group financial reports required by Stakeholders and State-Owned Companies (SOCs) in accordance with IFRS standards to reflect the Company's business performance and steer leadership decisions. To provide guidance in terms of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Operation Management • Consolidate Group numbers for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end reports to Stakeholders in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Prepare financial data reports accurately and timely as per Stakeholder and State-Owned Companies (SOCs) requirements including submission of statutory returns to The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and Statistics South Africa. • Prepare variance analysis between actual, plan and forecast and provide commentary notes on deviations. • Prepare group year-end packs and review Divisions information and assist in resolving complex issues identified and assist with the clearing of any validations. • Consolidate the annual budget (Corporate Plan) and review forecasts regularly. • Identify and raise financial issues in the Corporate Plan that will impact the decision-making process for the Group EXCO. • Implement new and updated IFRS standards and assist with the development of guidance documentation. • Assist with the development of accounting and legislative application guides. • Provide technical opinion on accounting matters. • Identify new IFRS standards issued but not yet applicable • Identify and raise updates required on Group accounting policies and procedures to ensure alignment to IFRS. • Influence positively and participate in change initiatives. • Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas. • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency. Audit and Compliance • Participate in internal and external Group audits and ensure timeously submission of required information to ensure that deadlines are met. • Consolidate and assist with the preparation of the working papers for auditors in preparation for year-end. • Assist with the preparation of responses timeously for auditors. • Implement agreed remedial measures on completion of audits. Implement and apply correct policies and procedures to ensure compliance and minimise financial risk to the business. • Identify and propose improvements to existing systems where required to ensure effectiveness and compliance. Human Resource Management: • Participate in the performance management process. • Participate in staff meeting to discuss operational performance and business issues. • Live the company values and exhibits behaviours to reflect the company culture. Financial Management: • Provide input to the labour budget in accordance to the workforce plan. • Utilise resources in a cost-effective manner to reduce and eliminate wastage. • Continuously seek opportunities to reduce cost without compromising on the delivery of the departmental objectives. B Comm Accounting Degree and preferably studying towards a Certificate of Technical Accounting (CTA) . 5 years' experience as financial accounting and consolidation or similar role in a medium to large Company. Experience with IFRS reporting and with reporting and consolidations at Group level. Demonstrated strong technical knowledge. Demonstrated experience in report writing. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Power Point. Competent knowledge of accounting standards and best practices. Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Advanced knowledge of the financial reporting tool Caseware. Market Related
